If you need a gold card you need to order it at least 4 weeks before you travel. I ordered mine and not until i had confirmation was i told that it takes 3 to 4 weeks to get it to me which will be after I leave on vacation. Not a lot of good to me so 1 year wasted.

I agree it does seem rather slow given that the intention is to make the electronic. Cheques now only take a couple of days to clear so I dont see why camping chqs gold card should not aspire to the same standard.

I know this is a while since you posted BUT to produce a Plastic card is a longer process than ripping off cheques and posting them out
Once you have your gold card you get a lot more benefits than using paper cheques

This is one of the worst sites to use, they are more interested in selling camping cheques than providing a proper service to EXISTING CUSTOMERS- I have never been able to access any type of balance, always some excuse, wish I had never changed to plastic, at least I knew what I had when it was paper.Even when they sent me the 3 Seasons magazine with my up to date balance, it was wrong so they sent another a week later, guess what that was wrong too. The principal is good and the camping cheques are brilliant, but not in plastic form. DUMP THE GOLD CARD

Is it worth upgrading to a Gold Card?

Finally got a balance, we know its not always bang up to date, just like bank statements, but it is useful to access ones balance at the beginning of the season so that you can go away knowing that they are loaded and what you have before getting to a site, which is why we changed to a Gold card. Amazing what affect a complaint can do. Many thanks.
